Capitalism uses celebrities/idols to sell us ideas and things

I’ve been thinking about how capitalism has created these idols/celebrities whom people are obsessed with. I’m people, I’m not above this. I’m trying to fight it. It’s so fascinating how they have convinced all of us to be invested in people’s lives who we will never meet and never be in the same room with. People know more about Doja Cat’s love life than their neighbor’s entire life. On this audio I talk about why I think capitalists push celebrity culture on us and what we can do resist the celebrity obsession. It’s hard but we have to do it. You don’t have to give up dancing to Beyonce’s new bop, you just have to stop viewing her as a god.
