The weekly delight is a random collection of my musings that no one asked for but you’ll get them because I believe they are delightful and I think you deserve delightful things.
The weekly delight can include poems, photos, audio, or things I’ve found on the internet. It can be things that are funny, sad, or don’t make sense. Really it’s just a way for me to share my thoughts because I have a lot of them.
Onto the delights…
The poem
This poem was inspired by every single time I see people supporting each other. It’s always so beautiful and it makes me cry all the time. I’m a sucker for community. It’s called We held each other’s hands.
We held each other’s hands
I feel nothing she says
I feel like all the things that I had inside of me were abandoned she says
I feel like the life, the blood, and the heart inside of me have been torn out and replaced with nothing she says
There is no hope for me, there is not an attempt to understand why my insides which were lush, full, and thriving dried out, left with a barren wasteland of nothingness she said
I wish they cared
I wish they would open my mouth, peak inside of me, and see the barren wasteland where my heart used to lay
They don’t have to find my soul and revive it
I wish they would just care to look and see it’s not there she said
I wish they would just notice she said
I notice I said
I notice all the pieces of you, the ones that are gone and the ones that are present
I can’t promise you that I can help you find them I said
But hold my hand and we’ll look together I said
Thank you she said
We held each other’s hands and walked through the unknown world because we were friends who dared to open each other’s mouth, look inside and see there was nothing
The art
I’m so obsessed with the idea of freedom. A lot of times I’ll just color words and I don’t know where I’m going and a lot of times it ends up being about freedom and being high. This art was inspired by two of my very many favorite things. Freedom and getting high!
The thing I found on the internet
I really love the inspiration from intelligent mischief on Instagram. I especially loved this post about letting your light shine through. It made me less scared of sharing my art.
The video
During my live show last month when I was sharing the news, I was interrupted by Crackhead Barney, a performance artist. Here is a small snippet of what happened.
That’s it for the delights!
