Onto the news…
News that made me confess to watching Keeping Up with the Kardashians
Clarence Thomas, a supreme court justice and a man on a mission to prove that Black people can also support white supremacy, has a very special relationship with a billionaire. Clarence has been jet setting with rich man Harlan Crow for the past 20 years and Clarence didn’t feel the need to tell anyone a billionaire was paying for his vacations.
I guess if I were a supreme court justice of a pretend democracy going on luxury vacations with a billionaire who bribes other government officials, I wouldn't want anyone to know either. They call them campaign contributions, but I call them bribes. Rich people don’t give their money away to people without expecting something in return. Rich people don’t even give money to people whom they owe money to, i.e. workers.
Anyway, Harlan Crow really loves spoiling Clarence. In addition to taking Clarence on vacations that would make it to an episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Harlan also bought Clarence’s childhood home. Clarence’s mother still lives in that home.
Yes, I have watched a few episodes of Keeping Up with the Kardashians because my curiosity knows no bounds. My curiosity led me to anarchism, but it also leads me to bad television sometimes. No one is perfect, okay!
No one is perfect is not an excuse that Clarence Thomas can use to justify him happily being bribed by a billionaire. Crow is claiming that he has “never sought to influence” Clarence, according to Propublica and I completely take back the whole bribe thing I said previously.
No I don’t. Billionaires lie. Supreme court justices lie. Everyone in power lies. You can’t tell the people you are oppressing that you are lying to them to oppress them. If people in power didn’t lie, people would revolt immediately after watching an episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
Better to trick them into thinking billionaires are great people with cool jets who sometimes hang out with supreme court justices and expect totally nothing in return.
News that made me refuse to use a thesaurus
Harvard University, a place where many terrible people study how to become terrible people, has received 300 million dollars from one of its terrible alumni Kenneth C. Griffin. As a thank you to this terrible man, Harvard University is naming its graduate school of arts and sciences after Kenneth. I know I could have used other adjectives to describe Harvard’s general terribleness, but I didn’t feel like picking up a thesaurus.
If Harvard won’t make the effort to stop being terrible, I won’t make the effort to find other adjectives to describe this terrible institution that “produces” the most CEOs. Harvard should really rename itself the school of villains, that way it doesn’t have to bother renaming any of its schools after villains who donate in the future.
Kenneth is definitely a villain and his villany knows no bounds. Not only is Kenneth the founder of a hedge fund, he is also an unabashed fan and donor of fellow villain Ron Desantis. This is obviously not surprising because no one has ever said you know that hedge fund CEO, he is a great guy. Sure he makes money from destroying people’s lives, but he really cares about people.
Of course Kenneth is a known supporter of a fascist transphobe. Transphobia keeps capitalism alive and Kenneth benefits from the evils of capitalism. Transphobia is another tool utilized by capitalists to get hateful people to target their hate towards people who are fighting for our collective freedom instead of the capitalists who are making their lives bad.
So if terrible Harvard loves Kenneth, and Kenneth loves Desantis, and Desantis loves transphobia, terrible Harvard can also add transphobia to the list of the terrible things it produces.
News that made me say two kids in a trench coat aren’t always cute
Another place that could benefit from including “villain” in its name is the White House. The White House houses villains like Joe Biden and should be fittingly renamed to the Villain House. As one would expect from a villain, Joe Biden is planning on giving sacred Apache land known as Oak Flat to copper mining companies who will desecrate the land. I guess once you steal people’s land, desecrating their holy site is just another Tuesday for you.
I bet you Joe is treating this passage of stolen sacred land to a mining company like he treats his daily naps, nothing unusual and totally necessary. I’m not against naps, napping is one of my hobbies. I'm against Joe Biden taking naps though because he doesn’t deserve them. People who are okay with destroying people’s holy sites don’t deserve naps!
The Apache are suing the so-called government to prevent this transfer of their land under the grounds of Religious Freedom Restoration Act which is very saddening because they shouldn’t have to. It’s the Apache’s land! I can’t imagine how painful it is to have to fight thieves who have stolen your land with laws the thieves made up in the court run by the thieves.
I’m still pretty angry at the British for colonizing my people and never giving land they stole back to the people they stole it from. They didn’t even steal my family’s land. Lucky for me I still have an ancestral home where I can watch Charles, the new feudal lord of the OG colonizers, get pelted by eggs. Please let it happen again!
Anyway this is not about the British, this is about the British’s evil spawn, the so-called United States of America being run by the wealthy. Trump, a Republican, started the transfer of the Apache holy site to the mining companies and Joe Biden, a Democrat, is defending it. Proving once again that the so-called US is run by one political party pretending to be two political parties.
It’s like the two kids in a trench coat except it’s not cute at all. These two kids are not wearing a trench coat to sneak into the movie theater. These two kids are refusing to be sorry about genocide and continue to harm the people whom they have stolen from because their rich friends are paying them to do it.
News that made me say you don’t want to live in a sauna
Enough about villains, let's talk about some heroes!
Fifty heroes in Australia boarded a train transporting coal and proceeded to shovel the coal out of the train. Instead of being treated as the heroes that they are, these heroes from the group Rising Tide were arrested because as I’ve stated multiple times, the world is being run by villains.
Rising Tide shoveled coal out of the train because coal is a major reason why the planet is turning into an uninhabitable sauna. I know saying a sauna is uninhabitable is redundant because of course we can’t live in a hot environment that can’t grow food. However, I have to be redundant because governments all over the globe don’t seem to understand that turning the world into a sauna to make money is not good.
So I’m hoping the Australian government reads this, learns something, and listens to Rising Tide’s demand to halt all coal production. Also, if you are reading this, Australian government, please give the land back to the people it was stolen from.
I truly don’t expect the Australian government to read this or stop destroying the planet for money. That's why it’s important for us to stop corporations from destroying the planet. Actions like Rising Tide are the only way we can save us.
