News that got me thinking we treat other animals better than humans
The New York state eviction moratorium ended on January 15th because the New York lawmakers went on a vacation on Wednesday without extending it. Yep, they are dancing to “Shots” the song while taking shots the drink right now and not worried a single ounce about people’s housing insecurity. Now I can go on and on about how politicians lack empathy and they should be booed whenever they walk around, but I’m not going to do that because you already know that. What I will say is that no one should pay rent, no one should pay for food, and no one should pay for their own toys. We apply this same logic to other animals. So why not to humans? Like no one ever says, dogs shouldn’t get food or a home unless they do tricks for 60 hours a week. It’s because human beings are viewed as workers first and not human first.
The purpose of workers is to work and not to exist, and if they cannot work, then let them die. Letting them die shows other workers that they should keep working or else they too will die. Unhoused and starving people is the equivalent of your professor telling you the cautionary tale of the student who slept in class once and lost their scholarship so you don’t dare take a delicious nap during his boring lecture. We are forced to work every day under the threat of death so don’t be upset with yourself for hating your job. You are supposed to hate it, that’s why they have to threaten you to do it.
News that got me feeling like corporations are run by demons in human skin suits
Pfizer is raising the price of 125 drugs because making more money than it’s ever made while we all suffered through Zoom meetings was not enough. I’m not surprised that a pharmaceutical company is behaving like the greedy kid in daycare who claims all the toys are theirs. What I want to know is who works at these pharmaceutical companies? Is it just a bunch of demons wearing skin suits? This level of inhumanity can only be matched by the likes of Zuckerberg, Musk, and Bezos. We know they are definitely robots and demons wearing skin suits. Nonetheless, the reason why Pfizer and other drug companies are allowed to profit off of humans’ desire to live is because the United States government lets it happen. Unlike other countries where the government can negotiate with pharmaceutical companies on price, the United States government prohibits Medicare from negotiating drug prices. Yep, the government prohibits itself from paying less for drugs, which is like you prohibiting yourself from buying things from the sales section of Zara. The only reason why you would do such a thing is if you were working for Zara and using someone else’s money to buy clothes.
News that showed me corporations aren’t even pretending to care anymore
King Soopers’ workers in Colorado went on strike last week to demand better pay and working conditions. King Soopers is owned by Kroger, a company that is really leaning into the corporate villain story. Kroger isn’t even trying to fool anyone that it cares about its workers. The company shut down stores in California and Seattle because these localities mandated a pandemic hazard pay. If you do that in the middle of a pandemic, you might as well unzip that human skin suit and reveal your devilish insides. Yes, this is a call back to the whole evil capitalists are not human bit, you’re welcome. Kroger workers’ median salary has decreased by 8%, the CEO of Kroger got a raise of 6.4%, earning a mere 20.6 million dollars. I mean how is he even supposed to live on that? Can that even buy you a trip to space?
Just in case you didn’t think Kroger was evil enough. Kroger offered to pay the striking workers $16 an hour, but is willing to pay scabs $18. I mean at this point why even bother pretending that you live off of human food, just peel off that human face mask and devour the closest peasant to you. Yes, the bit is still going. The last piece of evil from Kroger is that the contract that the workers rejected before going on strike included decreasing time off. I mean this was Kroger literally letting them know that if they want to work for a human, they shouldn’t work there. In conclusion, Kroger is run by the devil and his minions, and you shouldn’t shop there until the devil acts better. We can only get rid of the devils by ending capitalism.
That’s it for the news, but don’t leave yet
You can now listen to the Feel the News + Friends podcast on Apple Podcasts and Spotify or wherever else you get your podcasts from.
ICYMI on TikTok which you probably did because I’m in TikTok hell, I talked about Black drivers in Chicago getting ticketed more by traffic cameras and members of Congress buying oil pipeline infrastructure stock.
Lastly, I’m currently reading “all about love” by bell hooks and the quote that really resonated with me was “communities sustain life — not nuclear families, or the ‘couple’, and certainly not rugged individualism”.
