Hii it’s been a week filled with world and personal drama for me. I went to an open mic yesterday that made me feel better. I hope you are doing things to make yourself feel better, like going to free Palestine protests and eating a lot of bread. Today I’m going to share my feelings about living in a world where who bombed the hospital is a question being asked. Onto the news…
News that me come up with a new slogan for colonizers
The genocide in Palestine is ongoing and the recent widely asked question has been, who bombed the al-Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza killing at least 500 people? After spending a lot of time reading many articles and tweets about this question, another question came to mind. Yes, my whole life recently has been doomscrolling and unfollowing pro-genociders. Good bye Sarah Silverman, won’t miss you on my feed. The question that came to mind as I agreed with everyone who said the Israeli government did the bombing is, what type of world do we live in where we are asking who bombed a hospital?
Who bombed a hospital is a question that should never be asked because no one should be bombing anything, let alone a hospital. Unless you are talking about a terrible comedian telling horrible jokes at a hospital to patients who don’t want to hear them. Bombing is also what we in comedy call people not laughing at a comedian’s jokes. So yes, short of a comic telling unfunny jokes to patients who are not laughing, who bombed the hospital should never be asked.
This is not the last time this question will be asked as long as we live in a world run by colonizers. When the people who went around the world oppressing other people, stealing their land, enslaving people, and doing other terrible things which I don’t have enough time or space to list run the place, things will never be good. I can’t think of worse people to control things and I’ve tried to think about it. This is saying a lot because I have a very creative negative brain. Take me somewhere where you think is bad and I can always tell you how much worse it can get.
The United States and Europe, the previously mentioned colonizers, added Israel to their colonizer friend group when they occupied Palestine. Friend groups are nice when they gas each other up on their outfits, not settler colonialism. When the settler colonizer friend group runs the things, genocide is not a crime, resisting genocide is the crime. They rebrand genocide to self defense because genocide is generally frowned upon. It’s not genocide, it’s self defense, is the slogan for colonizers everywhere. The United States should definitely replace “in god with trust” on the currency to “it’s not genocide, it’s self defense”.
I personally don’t want to live in a world where I have to doomscroll people’s views on who bombed the hospital. I don’t think anyone other than the leadership of the colonizer governments, Sarah Silverman, and Amy Schumer want that. I want to live in a world where people happily ask, how much free weed do you want, or can I please take care of [insert community member’s name]? In order to have this type of world, the colonizer friend group needs to be disbanded and only we can disband that friend group.
A friend group bonded on genocide is not as easy to break up as Fifth Harmony, but we can do it. We just have to keep calling out genocide and understand that the forms of rebellion not condoned by the colonizer friend group are the forms of rebellion we need to embrace. The colonizer friend group doesn’t want you to do the things that will end colonization so will condemn anything that works.
