This poem was inspired by a moment when I woke up and I wanted to quit everything. I’m not going to quit everything because I enjoy talking and writing too much to quit. I talked before I walked so I figured out my priorities pretty early in life. Onto the poem…
How do you ungive up when you’ve given up
How do you resuscitate your soul from believing it can’t do something to believing it can do something
How do you keep going when you’ve convinced your insides that you cannot muster the courage the energy the life to keep going
Do you carry out the motions anyway
Do you put one foot in front of the other to remind your soul that you’ve walked before
Do you wander around aimlessly to remind yourself it’s okay to just be and to exist
When your insides have gone to sleep and refused to wake up
