Happy Sunday! If you missed the Feel the News Livestream, you can watch it here.
Now let’s talk about news that made me angry, sad, and glad.
News that made me angry
55% of murders by police in the United States have been categorized as other types of deaths from 1980 to 2018. Which means the police have killed more than twice as many people as have been reported. Which really means police have killed far more Black people than initially thought; I focus on Black people because if you didn’t know, they are 3.5 times more likely to be killed by the police. This news makes me so angry because this is obviously just another ploy by the police and their enablers to hide the fact that they are the ones we should be protecting ourselves from. You don’t miscategorize a murder by mistake. You only miscategrorize something if you don’t want someone to find it. Like when you work at a clothing store and there is only one shirt left that you really like so you put it in the pants section so no one else can find it.
News that made me sad
A British rapper has been sentenced to 28 months in prison for selling marijuana in the UK, which begs the question, why are we still sending people to prison for selling a drug that we all agree brings an unprecedented amount of joy to the masses? This news makes me really sad because there is absolutely no reason why anyone should be going to prison for selling marijuana. Truly there is absolutely no reason for prisons to exist. We should focus on making the world a better place by legalizing all drugs, yes I said all drugs. Getting rid of this exploitative system that creates scarcity when there is abundance. Imagine a world where we can all work 3 hours a day, have a nice place to live, and there is an abundance of weed. That’s the world I want to live in. It’s sad because that’s what everyone wants too, but we are all too propagandized by cop movies that make us think cops are cool and reality shows that make us think we will one day be rich to realize we could all live good lives.
News that made me glad
A Facebook whistleblower has come forward to tell the whole world that Facebook ain’t shit. According to the whistleblower, Facebook made it easier for the planners of the coup to mobilize their inept troops whose only skill was scaling walls. Also, Facebook knows Instagram is bad for teenage girls’ mental health and instead of doing something about it they want to exploit a younger audience by creating an app for children. This news makes me so happy because I love seeing workers turn on their evil employers. It’s like that moment in a movie when the villain is killed by one of their cronies. The only thing that would make me happier than workers snitching on their companies is workers taking over companies and running them themselves. Seriously you can do it. If all the Amazon workers decided to take over Amazon tomorrow, what would Jeff Bezos do? Like does he even know where the key to the Amazon headquarters is?
That’s it for the news, but don’t leave yet…

This week on TikTok I talked about a lot of things and my favorite topics were bullshit jobs and the return of low rise jeans.
I found this super amazing site that has a ton of anarchist zines.
