Borders are racist

Happy Sunday! RSPV to the Feel the News livestream tonight to watch me and my friends talk about the news in this newsletter.
Now let’s talk about news that made me angry, sad, and glad.
News that made me angry
Over 10,000 of mostly Haitian immigrants seeking entry into the United States are being forced to take shelter under a bridge in Del Rio, Texas as they wait to be processed. This news makes me angry because borders are inherently racist, inhumane, and should not exist. US white teens can easily go to Cancun to make bad decisions without anyone questioning whether or not they should be allowed to go to Mexico or drink a whole bottle of liquor and puke in the pool. Meanwhile Black people from Haiti, who are running away from home because the United States of America has made sure Haiti stays unstable, are being shut out of the United States. You can’t blow up someone’s house and then say they can’t stay in yours. Now that I think about it, if you are blowing up someone's house, it’s because you hate them and you don’t want them to have anywhere to live, and you are most likely a racist. That’s what borders are there for. It’s so that the US can keep destroying people’s houses without worrying that all those people will move in.
News that made me sad
The six Palestinians who escaped from an Israeli prison, proving that no one should ever doubt the power of a spoon, have been rearrested. This news makes me very sad because as a person who hates prisons and apartheid the news of this prison breakout made me happier than when Joe Biden fell up the stairs. I know Joe Biden falling down the stairs is a lot less monumental than people freeing themselves from prison but my most toxic trait is that sometimes I enjoy the downfall of my enemies more than the victory of my friends. I know it’s bad and I’m working on it. This is not about me though. This is about the six people who brought a little bit of hope to Palestinians while bringing shame to Israel being put back in a cage. This is about Palestinians whose rights to exist as humans are being constantly trampled on by a state committed to genocide and enabled by my tax dollars.
News that made me glad
In a new episode of the Real Imperialists of Earth, France recalled its ambassador to the United States because the United States took money out of France’s pocket. The United States had the nerve to go behind France’s back to provide nuclear submarines to Australia which led to Australia canceling its $37 billion submarine contract with France. I totally get it, France. If my friend cancelled plans with me to hang out with the cooler kids, I’d be pissed too and, yes, this has happened to me. This news makes me so happy because it’s so fun to watch evil countries getting into a fight over being left out of doing evil things. The deal to provide Australia with nuclear submarines is a strategic alliance between the UK, Australia, and the United States called Aukus, and it’s goal is to challenge China’s growing power. France is like, why can’t I be part of a racist coalition to bring down another exploitative state capitalist country just because it’s not an exploitative state capitalist country run by white people, no fair.
That’s it for the news, but don’t leave yet…

In case you missed it this week on TikTok I talked about why you should be very scared of celebrity politicians and Richard Branson taking pride in being a colonizer.
I’m currently reading Empire of Illusion by Chris Hedges. I started reading this book when I was high and honestly I was not ready for some of that truth about how celebrity culture has inherently destroyed our imagination and has made us passive to capitalist violence. Please read this book, but not when you are high.
If you’d like to see me live, you are in luck. I’m in some shows next week. Head on over to my calendar to see where I’ll be.
