Ted Cruz ran away to Cancun, hoping to relive his college spring break days with his family while his constituents suffer through power and water restriction.

How should you feel about it?

Pissed, but not surprised.

And this is when you say, “This is terrible. Why are you telling us we shouldn’t be surprised. It’s politicians’ jobs to take care of their constituents, right?”

Well, I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news, please don’t hate me, but it’s not Ted Cruz or any other politician’s job to help you. Their main job is to help capitalists exploit you and their secondary job is to keep you from resisting this exploitation. And when I say capitalist, I don’t mean you there who doesn’t own capital and call yourself a capitalist. You, my friend, are a traitor who is more loyal to your football team than your class. What did the Mavericks ever do for you, huh? Anyway, when I say capitalist, I mean people who own capital like Jeff Bezos.

Politicians are here to create the education system, aka the propaganda, to prevent most people from realizing this whole system is rigged so they don’t fight it. They educate us to become workers and then tell us that’s the only value we have. Our education system is pretty much Work Bitch by Britney, but without a beat so it’s just sad. And if you don’t do as Britney says and work, you will lose your home and you will starve to death; the government will make sure that this happens. Guess who runs the government? Capitalists! Politicians are just the face of capitalists, so the government and corporations have the same interests!

Plot twist, right? But there is more…

There are enough homes and food for everyone, but the government makes sure that people go hungry and don’t have homes, because if they don’t do that, we would not let our lives be stolen so some dude can own 40 yachts and party all day. I mean I love parties and the thing is we could all work less and party more if we lived in a world where our labor wasn't stolen so some rich fool’s descendant can be fed grapes as they lay in bed. Politicians are here to make sure you work all day so someone else can be fed grapes; so stop expecting anything from them, except disappointment.

If politicians aren’t here to help us, what do we do?

We help each other! Mutual aid has been around forever, but it has especially increased once people realized the government ain’t shit. Find a mutual aid group around you and create a community. Give to mutual aid groups in Texas if you want to help and have extra funds. Seriously, right now, get to know your neighbors and mutually help each other.
